Birth Doula Services

Before your baby arrives:

After we meet to get to know each other, we will schedule two prenatal visits with you and if desired your partner.

We will discuss any desires and preferences that you have for your birthing experience. We will talk about any concerns that you have about your birth, and come up with plans to help address them. If you have specific fears or past experiences that could become challenges to the experience you hope for, we will discuss ways to minimize the effect these will have on you during labor and birth.

If your partner has any concerns or fears, we will take the time to discuss them and come up with solutions that can help. I want to be a support to both of you. I will share resources that you need to feel prepared for labor, birth and beyond. I will lend you two books, “Pregnancy, Childbirth and the Newborn” and “ The Birth Partner” and other books from my library.

We will work together to prepare a birth preferences plan that reflects what you value. I will be available for you when we agree to work together, and be specifically on call for you from week 38 on until your baby is born. If an earlier labor happens, I will do my best to be

there to support you.

I follow DONA International’s Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics which you can find here.

During labor

I will come to you when you would like me to start supporting you, either at home or where you are planning to deliver your little one. I will draw on my training, experience and knowledge to

provide emotional support and physical comfort during labor and birth, helping you to relax, giving comforting touch, counter pressure, positioning, and other pain controlling techniques. I will also help your partner support you, and I will support them as well.

My Fees

I have chosen to set the fees for each client individually.

I am contracted as a doula with Tricare and Quilted Health.

After Birth

I usually remain one or two hours after birth until you are comfortable, settled in with your little one and ready for some quiet time together as a family. I can also help with breastfeeding if you would like.

Postpartum visits after birth

I plan to visit you two times after birth and answer questions about infant care and feeding, and ask how I can best support you to feel confident in your parenting and new role.

Postpartum Doula Care

I am also a Postpartum Doula who is trained to support you, your partner, and baby during postpartum. This is a separate service and we can discuss how I can best support you during Postpartum and can give you an estimate when we meet.
